  • Frankie Acosta has been a dental technician since 1986. He has owned and operated three full service laboratories. At AA Dental Design, he has built a powerhouse focused on processing digital and conventionally impressed restorations by utilizing the CEREC inLab to its fullest. Every restoration is processed with the CEREC inLab system which created his motto of All CEREC All the Time. He is a software Beta Tester and a certified advanced trainer for Dentsply Sirona and Patterson Dental. He has founded and moderates www.CERECondemand.com which is a CEREC educational site for all professionals in the dental field.   • Dr. Mark Ludlow is the Division Director of Implant Prosthodontics, Associate Professor, and Co-Director of the Digital Dentistry Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his DMD dental training at the University of Connecticut and received his MS in prosthodontics from the University of North Carolina. As a practicing and teaching prosthodontist, Dr. Ludlow’s passion is in the development and integration of digital technology in the practice of everyday implant and restorative dentistry.

  • Dr. Vasquez obtained his Doctor in Dental Medicine degree at the Metropolitan University in 1997. He has completed his post-graduate include training in the areas of prosthodontics, orthopedics, craniocervical dysfunction and TMJ. Obtained his Fellowship in Fukuoka, Japan, and a Mastership in the USA from ICCMO (International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics). He is the founder of The Biofunctional Dynamics Academy launched in Dijon, France, Barranquilla, Colombia and Miami, USA. Dr. Vasquez has been one of the early adopters in CADCAM evolution for over 16 years. And for the past 5 years has been developing and expanding protocols on interdisciplinary treatment planning using 3D Data Integration, that will facilitate the implementation of more realistic and a more comprehensive approach for each individual case during a diagnostic phase all the way to manufacturing. Dr. Vasquez is a member of the world-renowned organization Oral Design with 110 members around the world and owns Oral Design Miami, a dental laboratory studio focusing on high esthetics and function. • Zirconia A to YZ: Selection, Use and Handling

  • Zirconia is now the primary indirect restorative material used in the dental industry. Zirconia is used in multiple ways – full contour, veneered framework, micro-layered, and hybrid frameworks for full arch implant born reconstruction. Furthermore, there is no longer just one zirconia type as a variety of materials with varying translucency and properties have been introduced to the market. Which material should be used for what clinical situation? What compromises may be made when selecting a translucent material versus a conventional “white” zirconia? Finishing procedures and sintering schedules also may vary according to zirconia and restoration type selected. This lecture will provide insight into material solutions available to meet patient treatment planning, fracture resistance, clinically relevant strength, esthetics, and predictability.

  • Associate Professor and Director of Biomaterials at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine and Associate Professor in the Division of Materials Science and Engineering. Dr. Giordano received a D.M.D., certificate in prosthodontics and D.Sc. at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He worked on the development of the CEREC VITABLOC MKII at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a postdoctoral student. Since 1987, Dr. Giordano has been actively involved in materials development and testing for CAD/CAM systems, tissue engineering, and restorative materials. His research on CAD/CAM materials led to the invention of a new machinable block marketed as Enamic, holding several patents on this and other materials. Dr. Giordano is actively involved in at the national and international level on materials standards development for machinable blocks, CAD/CAM, and dental ceramics. As Director of Biomaterials, their work encompasses materials development, clinical, and laboratory testing of dental materials.

  • Jack is the Director of Absolute Dental Services Signature Prosthetics Division in the Triangle region of North Carolina, Jack a former Marine, started his ceramics career in 2002. He managed the Implant, All Ceramic and PFM Divisions of MicroDental DTI. He was Director of Technical Artistry for Lee Culp at Sculpture Studios since 2014 before joining Absolute Dental Laboratory. He has completed courses on advanced implant restorative dentistry with Dr. Carl Misch and has received a Fellowship from the Misch Institute as well as obtaining Fellowship and Mastership from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration, the American College of Prosthodontists and the prestigious PEERS prosthodontic association. He was also named LMT magazine top 40 technicians in the US under 40. Over the years Jack has been an integral part in the research and development of many of today’s top restorative dental materials. Jack has studied and restored cases with many of the world’s top clinicians. Today, he continues to work closely with Restorative Clinicians, Prosthodontists, University Graduate programs and faculty practices from around the country.
